Julia Longo competed & excelled in the prestigious Special Olympics 2014 Summer Games in Vancouver, B.C.! She's recently been selected to represent Team Canada in the 2015 international games in Los Angeles, California! Woooo Hoooo!

We are pleased to announce that the 2014 Summer Swim Team will be hosted by the Garden City Piranhas (GCP)!
This will be GCP’s second year managing, but it will be the 9th summer for the program! We’re looking forward to a *FANTASTIC* season, with warm weather & sunny days!
The Pre-Season Meeting will be held in on Wednesday, June 11th from 6:30-8:00pm! This will be held at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatic Centre (425 Carlton Street). All are welcome to attend and drop-in at any time to register. We will have our team information packets including our meet schedule available.
*Team Aquatic Supplies (TAS) will be on site for all your equipment needs! They will have fins, caps, goggles, pool buoys, chlorine removing shampoo, kick boards, wet equipment bags and more available for purchase! Our lucky swim team members receive 20% off purchase*
Our season begins on Wednesday, July 2nd and runs for 8 weeks! Throughout the regular season we will be attending 4 meets, culminating with a Regional Championship at Brock University on August 16th. We are currently set to swim in the morning session at Champs!
Our coaching line up is set and ready! Coach Nick, Joe, Beth, Shirley and Diane are very excited to be back on deck! We have plenty of *FuN* activities planned this summer! Team games every Wednesday, various team excursions, our annual Carb Party the night before Champs and our season-ending pot-luck Awards Banquet!

Congratulations to our competitive athletes who've had a very successful year to date! It's no secret that swimming is a commitment-oriented sport. Through the trials and tribulations of competition & personal growth within the sport (and off deck), combined with school (and life in general), we're thrilled to see those smiling faces continue to come to practice everyday and put in the effort! The coaches couldn't be more proud!
No matter how challenging workout is, the team also makes it a fun environment-cracking jokes and being playful [between sets only of course ;)] and the results of their hard work & enjoyment shows. The coaches have seen and continue to see the progress our athletes make, individually and collectively as a group! #awesome!
As short course season has come to a close and LC is underway, we would be remiss not to recap our team highlights! Again, congratulations to everyone! We'd also like to extend a giant THANK YOU to our parents for the time they dedicate to their athletes bringing them to practice & meets, and officiating on deck!
