The Sashbear Relays are dedicated in memory of one ESwim's former swimmers, Sasha Menu Courey. Sasha contributed to many record setting relays during her swimming career and earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Missouri. Sadly, she lost her battle with Borderline Personality Disorder in 2011 at the age of 20. Sashbear is an organization that was created in her memory, with the goal of raising awareness about BPD and mental health.
Sashbear stresses how important it is for athletes to feel supported throughout the inevitable ups and downs both in and outside of the pool.  When the stress is too much, they want athletes to feel OK about reaching out for help.

PLEASE NOTE: ESPN is scheduled to send a film crew to this event as a part of an "Outside the Lines" story on Sasha and her legacy.
We are entering our members in relays as a show of support for this cause.
