SC: 2016~2017 WOSA Championships!

Greetings Parents! Is everyone excited to attend our first WOSA meet of the year? CONGRATULATIONS to all of our swimmers who qualified as they continue their successful journey! Here are the details, we're going to have an AMAZING meet! -GCAC Coaching Staff-

2016-2017 Western Region Short Course Championships!
Hosted by the London Aquatic Club


            DATES            
February 24th + February 25th + February 26th


            LOCATION            
Canada Games Aquatic Centre (CGAC)
1045 Wonderland Road North, London, ON, N6G 2Y9


            FACILITY            
One 50m pool divided into two 8-lane 25m pools.
There is ample spectator seating, but it may be tight due to the size of the meet (please arrive EARLY to guarantee spots); and free parking. There is a snack bar on site, Marble Slab (Yummy!) and Team Aquatic Supplies should also be there!

$9.00 per Individual Event 
$10.00 per relay ($2.50 each)
$5.00 Swimmer Surcharge 
$20.00 coaching fee (**overnight meet**)


            SCRATCH DEADLINE            
No Scratches Please!


            FINALS            
There will be an "A" final for girls and boys 13s + 14s + 15s
There will be an "A" & "B" final for girls and boys 16+Over with 30(+) starts


            AWARDS            
Medals: 1st - 3rd for individual events; 1st only for relays.
Ribbons: 4th - 8th for individuals events; 2nd + 3rd only for relays.
Age Groupings: 10&U's, 11s, 12s, 13s, 14s, 15s, 16&O's
Relay Groupings: 10&U's, 11-12s, 13-14s, 15&O's


            BONUS SWIMS            
Swimmers qualifying in one event may swim THREE bonus events.
Swimmers qualifying in two events may swim TWO bonus events.
Swimmers qualifying in three events may swim ONE bonus event.
Swimmers qualifying in four+ events will have ZERO bonus events.


            OFFICIALS            
Welcome parents!  Here's your opportunity to get more involved in this meet.  Being on deck is much more exciting than sitting up in the crowded stands!  The air temperature is also much cooler on deck, on top of the other perks of officiating!  Each team is required to provide three officials per session in order for the meet to run efficiently.  Please register to sign-up for our swimmers by e-mailing the Meet Manager, Mr. Trevor Pool, at 2017wosa@gmail.com!  Don't forget to mention if you need a sign-off!


            SPECIAL NOTES            
~ONE START rule, one false start is a DQ!
~Swimmers have a GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP before your race day(s)!!! :) 
~13+Overs will swim combined and be separated for results and finals!
~Please bring a lock to store your valuables in the locker room!  
~There is VERY LITTLE deck space. Swimmers may want to bring a chair!
~Absolutely NO laser tag on deck; Pictionary is permitted.
~Events seeded slowest to fastest; distance events seeded fastest to slowest!
~Relays are subject to change; please don't leave your session without talking to Coach Beth, as we may need you for a relay!
~SWIMMERS, you might want to bring a chair to sit on deck with :) 
~DEQUALIFYING TIMES: 12&U who qualify for FESTIVALS may not swim those events; 13+O who qualify for AGE GROUPS may not swim those events.
