SC: 2015-2016 SC WOSA!

Greetings Parents! Is everyone excited to attend the first WOSA meet of the year? Congratulations to all of our swimmers who qualified as they continue their successful journey! Here are the details, we're going to have an amazing meet! -GCAC Coaching Staff

   MEET   
2014-2015 Regional Short Course Championships
Hosted by the AOA + LLST + WAC


   DATE   
February 6th + February 7th + February 8th


   LOCATION   
Windsor International Aquatic & Training Centre
401 Pitt Street West Windsor, ON  N9A 0B2


   FACILITY    
One 71m pool divided into two 10-lane 25m pools.
There is ample spectator seating; street parking may be limited + pay parking is available.

   SESSIONS   
-FRIDAY AFTERNOON/DISTANCE SESSION-
Warm-ups @ 12:30-1:20pm / Starts @ 1:30pm
-FRIDAY EVENING 13+OVER SPRINT SESSION-
Warm-ups ~ 45 mins following the distance session / Starts @ ?
-SATURDAY+SUNDAY 13+OVER MORNING SESSIONS- 
Warm-ups @ 7:30-8:20am / Starts @ 8:30am 
-SATURDAY+SUNDAY 12+UNDER AFTERNOONS SESSIONS- 
Warm-ups @ 12:00-12:50pm / Starts @ 1:00pm 
-SATURDAY+SUNDAY EVENING 13+OVER FINALS
 
Warm-ups @ 5:00-5:50pm / Starts @ 6:00pm


   MEET FEES   
$5.00 Swimmer Splash Fee
$9.25 per Individual Event 
$10.00 per relay ($2.50 each)
$20.00 coaching fee* (slight increase as this is an overnight meet)


   SCRATCH DEADLINE   
No scratches please!


   FINALS   
There will be an "A" final for girls and boys 13s + 14s
There will be an "A" + "B" final for girls and boys 15+Over with 30+ starts. Finals will be swum in 10-lane heats but only top 8 will score!
The top ten 13+Over Swimmers dequalified with a provincial 15 yr old time will have a separate "Super Heat" in finals.


   AWARDS   
Medals: 1st - 3rd for individual events; 1st only for relays.
Ribbons: 4th - 8th for individuals events; 2nd + 3rd only for relays.
Super Heats: Will not be scored for awards.
Para: Medals will be awarded in lPC-eligible events only using the SNC Performance Calculator, and shall be awarded on a "mixed gender" basis to the top 3 swimmers in each event.  In order to award GOLD there must be at least 2 competitors, to award SILVER there must be at least 3 competitors and to award BRONZE there must be at least 4 competitors in the event.


   BONUS SWIMS   
Swimmers qualifying in one event may swim THREE bonus events.
Swimmers qualifying in two events may swim TWO bonus events. 
Swimmers qualifying in three events may swim ONE bonus event. 
Swimmers qualifying in four+ events receive NO bonus swims!


   PARA ENTRIES   
Para swimmers my enter other events in which they meet the regional time standard, but there will not be separate Para awards for these events.  There will be no bonus swims for Para for distances greater than 100m.  
In para-swimming events with five or more entries, para-swimmers will compete in able-bodied heats during preliminaries, seeded by time, then compete in a para-swimming final during the FINALS SESSION.  
In para-swimming events with fewer than five entries, the event(s) will be para-swimmer only timed finals during the PRELIMINARY SESSION.
Para-swimmers that have the able bodies standard in any event may enter that event as able bodies. A para-swimmer may swim as either able bodies or para in any event they qualify for, but not both. 


   OFFICIALS   
Welcome parents!  Here's your opportunity to get involved in this meet.  Being on deck is much more exciting than sitting up in the crowded stands!  The air temperature is also much cooler on deck, on top of the other perks of officiating!  Each team is required to provide three officials per session in order for the meet to run efficiently!  Please register to sign-up for our swimmers!  You may do so by logging into the OSOA website and registering!  CLICK HERE!


   SPECIAL NOTES   
-ONE START rule, one false start is a DQ!
-NEW THIS YEAR: 13+Over preliminaries will swim combined age groups and will be separated according to age group + gender for Finals!
-Please bring a lock to store your valuables in the locker room! 
-Events seeded slowest to fastest; distance events seeded fastest to slowest!
-Pre-ordered WOSA gear can be picked up in the media room next to the viewing gallery during the meet.
